He's right for you if...

Toby will be best suited as an only pet, he adores people, loves all the attention and gives great hugs and kisses

Update on 18 May 2020

Toby is looking for a loving home again and through no fault of his own.

He is a typical Akita, if you show him respect he’ll respect you. He is a big friendly boy, with a great personality looking for someone with Akita experience who'll understand and love his ways.

Toby will be best suited as an only pet, he adores people, loves all the attention and gives great hugs and kisses. He could be part of a family with older children, he is very gentle but he's big and sometimes he doesn't realise it and might knock over smaller children. We don't know how he is with cats, this would have to be tested.

Toby loves his walks and is good on his lead, he is strong and will pull a little if he picks up a scent or sees something he wants to check out but he does walk well.

Toby is a very affectionate big softie and he just wants to be your best friend.

Update on 12 April 2020

Toby is a big friendly boy, with a big personality looking for someone with akita experience who will not be intimidated by his size or strength.

Toby missed out on socialization skills, being tied up in a garden for the first 2 years of his life, so in an attempt to be friendly and affectionate he can come across as a bull in a china shop sometimes, he just wants to give hugs and kisses to everyone he meets. He really loves people and spending time with them so being an only dog would suit him best. We don't know how he is with cats, this would have to be tested.

Toby comes to life when he knows he's heading out for a walk, he is strong and can pull his lead if he smells something he wants to explore but generally he's good. With a little training, this can be improved.

We would love for this young boy to go to a loving home where he will be loved, spoiled and treated as a family member.

Update on 4 April 2020

Toby looks big and tough but he's really a sweetheart looking for someone to give him a new home where he'll get lots of attention and affection to make up for the 2 years he spent on a chain in a garden.

Toby has a lovely personality, he's very friendly and affectionate. He loves being with people more so than other dogs so we think being an only dog would be best for him. We don't know if he has any experience with cats, this would have to be tested.

Toby lights up when he see's a volunteer coming for him with a lead, he loves his walks and is very good when he's out.

Toby is very handsome with beautiful facial features, he's a big softie with a gentle nature and will make an amazing pet for someone who has experience with this breed.

Update on 25 March 2020

Just look at this gorgeous boy, to think he was just tied up in a garden with nobody spending time with him for the first 2 years of his life, how could anybody do that?

Toby knows what it's like to have company, attention and affection since he came to the Centre, he loves it and doesn't want it to end so we want to find him that special owner who will cherish him for the sweetheart he is, a big softie.

Toby is very friendly with a beautiful temprement and a kind gentle nature. He loves interacting and playing with the volunteers as much as he can, you can see his face light up when he's out.

Toby hasn't bothered mixing or getting to know any of the other dogs at the centre so we think being an only dog would be the best rehoming option for him. We don't know how he is with cats, this would have to be tested by the applicant.

Toby really enjoys his walks and is very good on his lead. He is a very handsome boy with a lovely soft coat and amazing colouring all over.

If you have experience with this breed or have done your research and want to have your own very loveable Akita, don't make Toby wait any longer, get in touch with the Rehoming Team to find out more.
