Willow is right for you if...

She is great with the children so could happily live with a family of older children and I think Serena would prefer to be the only dog and get all the attention.

Update on 08 June 2020

Serena is sadly looking for her forever home again due to an unforeseen accident in the home and through no fault of Serena.

Serena is such a good dog, she’s so well behaved inside the home, she loves being with her family and this is typical with the Akita they don’t like to be too far from their family so they will follow you room to room. She also loves lots of cuddles and if you are having an off day she’ll have you smiling in no time. Serena is great to walk and is walked with a halti.

In my own opinion Serena is just lovely, she’ll make a great pet and forever friend and if you want something special then she’s your girl.

If you wish to apply please send us a message through the Facebook page and we’ll give you an application from.

Update on 16 April 2020

Serena was not doing well at the Centre, we organised a foster for her and she is much better but alas all good things must come to an end so we need a permanent home for her now so she doesn't have to come back here.

Serena will need a family or owner who is familiar with the breed to adopt her. She adores attention and company, she's very friendly, affectionate and playful and really enjoys being in the thick of a family environment, she thrives in it.

Serena has a lovely nature, a beautiful temperament and a great personality. She is good on her lead and loves her walks. She is a very smart girl with some basic commands already but could do so much more if the time was put in with her.

Serena might be rehomed with a male dog depending on a meet and greet. We don't know if she has any cat experience, this would have to be tested.

Update on 17 March 2020

Serena was struggling here at the centre, she was getting more stressed daily so we got her a foster home for now and are thankful to her hosts for taking brilliant care of her. It has become priority for us to get her a home so she doesn't have to come back and get stressed and anxious again so please consider adopting this beautiful girl.

Serena adores attention and company, she's very friendly, affectionate and playful. She has a lovely temperament and a great personality.
Serena is very good on her lead and loves her walks. She has learned some basic commands, she's a very smart girl and given the right owner she could pick up a lot more.

Serena could be part of a family, she has had experience with one and was great with them. She may get along with a male dog depending on a meet and greet. We don't know how she is with cats, this would have to be tested.

Update on 05 March 2020

Serena is still waiting for her new owner and we hope she gets one soon because the poor girl is very unsettled now, it's very hard to get her back into her run, she just wants to be out with the volunteers all the time, she loves the company.

Serena is super-friendly, very affectionate and playful, she loves hugs and kisses and adores attention. Serena really loves her walks and is great on the lead, she has some basic commands and is very smart, if she had more training, she would easily learn a lot more.

Serena was fostered at Christmas time and we learned a little more about her, she would suit a loving family, she settled in very well and had no issues with her hosts. She could possibly be rehomed with a male dog depending on a meet and greet. We have no idea if she has any experience with cats, this would have to be tested.

Update on 05 March 2020

We really need to get Serena her new home and family, it's heartbreaking to see her not want to go back into her run, she keeps trying to get back out.

Serena adores attention and affection, she gives the best hugs and kisses from the minute she gets out, she's just the friendliest young girl.

Serena is great on the lead and she loves to get out for a walk. She has some basic commands and she would definitely pick up more, very quickly, if she had continued training.

Serena was fostered at Christmas time and we know she would suit a loving family and she could possibly live with a male dog depending on a meet and greet. We don't know how she is with cats, the applicant would have to check this out.

Update on 24 February 2020

Serena is a very friendly young Akita girl, full of love and affection, she gives hugs and kisses from the minute she gets out. We're worried about her lately as its getting harder and harder for us to get her back into her run, she hates it, so we really need to find her a new home and family so she can finally be happy all the time.

Serena is very playful and loves attention and human interaction of any kind. She is great on the lead and she loves her walks. She has some basic commands but may need a little more training.

Serena was out to foster so we know she would suit a family and possibly could live with a male dog but this would depend on a meet and greet. As for cats, the applicant would have to check this out.

Update on 14 February 2020

Poor Serena has not been looked at and for why I honestly don’t know?
Serena is super friendly and gives amazing hugs but could maybe be too much for some people due to her size but there is no harm in her at all, she’s the friendliest girl.

Serena would suit a family with children who are dog savvy and owners who have experience with the breed or large dogs.
She was in foster over Christmas and was the best behaved visitor they didn’t want to give her back she was so good.

She’s great on the lead and loves her walks, I also had a photo of her on the trampoline but couldn’t find it and she was having so much fun it was hilarious but lovely to see.

Serena hates going back into her pen and will try anything to get out of going in, it’s funny but it’s sad too.
She needs a home and soon before she becomes withdrawn and won’t want to do anything.

Update on 2 February 2020

Serena is a real sweetheart and why she is still here is beyond us. She is the perfect akita girl, only a puppy really, with a world of love and affection to give.

Serena is very playful, she will give you hugs and kisses from the minute she gets out of her run and lately she has taken to the trampoline for extra fun. She is great on the lead and loves to get out for her walks. She has learned some basic commands but may need a little more training.

Serena was out to foster so we know she would suit a family and possibly could live with a male dog but this would depend on a meet and greet. As for cats, the applicant would have to check this out.

Lately it is getting harder and harder to get Serena to go back into her run, she just loves being out with people and doesn't want it to end. This special girl deserves a new start in life with someone who will love her back just as much.

Update on 25 January 2020

Serena is a loving and playful young girl, she loves human interaction and will give you hugs from the moment she gets out of her run, this is a hug that will pick you up if you are feeling down, you should try it.

She is super friendly and loves company she’s not too keen being left on her own but maybe in a home that would be different.

Serena was fostered at Christmas time and we got nothing only positive feedback from her hosts. She would suit a family and could possibly get along with another male dog depending on a meet and greet.

As she is still young, she needs some more training on her commands but she is great on the lead and loves to go out walking.

While we love having Serena here, she really needs her own family and a home now as she is stressing

Update on 04 January 2020

Serena is around 1.5 years old, age was in foster over the Christmas holidays and did amazingly.

We are super proud of her and now that she is back her anxiety has returned with her but hopefully not for long.

Update on 19 December 2019

Serena came to us very very stressed and she wasn’t coping she panicked and destroyed her run but after a couple of days she calmed down thankfully because it was hard to watch and very sad to watch.

Serena twerks better than Beyoncé’ and that’s not an exaggeration, she can shake that ass so much with excitement when she sees you coming and once you open that gate she holds onto you with the biggest cuddle and you just know she misses human interaction so much. This is the hardest part of rescue, when you see their hurt, their pain and hear their cries it’s just awful and you feel guilty because you can’t give them all your time, you can only do so much as we have don’t have hands to do more.

Serena would suit a family and could possibly live with a male dog pending meet and greet, she’s a lovely girl who just needs further training for commands, she’s not boisterous she’s just a loving playful pup.
