Adopted date

Max was adopted on 25 June 2020 after a long search for his perfect new home!

He's right for you if...

Max is looking for an active family as he's an energetic boy. He could possibly share a new home with a female depending on a meet and greet, he's had loads of play pals here at the Centre and it's been good for him.

We don't know if he has any cat experience, the applicant would have to test this themselves.

Update on 14 June 2020

Max would stay on this trampoline all day and keep tugging at you just so you'd stay with him and be his playmate, it's heartbreaking that he is still here and another bunch of his playmates have found their loving homes recently.

Max is an adorable friendly and playful boy who has been completely overlooked, he really is one of those dogs that you have to meet and then you'll fall in love with him and his great personality.

Max is small in size but has a huge personality and would excel in a home with the right person. He is very energetic and bouncy but would settle if he had boundaries and a daily routine, he just needs somebody that has a little experience and won't be a pushover for him.

Max gets along with female dogs and would do well with one if he had a successful meet and greet. Max would benefit from having an active owner or family. We have no idea how he is with cats, the applicant would have to test this.

Max loves heading out for a walk and after the first few minutes of excitement settles down and is good on a lead or harness. He will play with any toy for fun and loves the trampoline here at the Centre.

This beautiful boy really deserves his second chance and we really hope he gets it soon.

Update on 2 June 2020

Max is a friendly energetic boy who enjoys attention and affection and loves to play. He has been here far too long and really needs to find the loving home he deserves. Max is very intelligent and has lots of fun playing with toys and learning new tricks. He will need a firm owner to guide him as he can be boisterous and will try to get his own way if he thinks you are a pushover.

Max loves being around people or other dogs, he loves company. He needs an active home where he will get lots of exercise and attention. He could possibly be rehomed with a female depending on a meet and greet. We don't know how he is with cats, this would have to be tested.

Max is very friendly and affectionate, he loves getting rubbed down and will stand all day to be brushed. He loves his walks and after the initial excitement, he is very good on the lead.

Max just needs someone to give him time, patience and lots of love.

Get in touch with the Rehoming Team now and come meet him.

Update on 18 May 2020

Max is a handsome, happy and extremely friendly boy which makes it harder for us to understand why he is still here. Come meet him, no amount of pictures can show you his fun personality and friendly ways. Max loves company, people or other dogs, he doesn't mind so long as he can be with you, he just wants to be your friend.

Max is looking for an active family as he's an energetic boy. He could possibly share a new home with a female depending on a meet and greet, he's had loads of play pals here at the Centre and it's been good for him. We don't know if he has any cat experience, the applicant would have to test this themselves.

Max is very affectionate, he loves getting rubbed down and will keep leaning in for more and more. When it comes to his walks, he can't hide his excitement, he loves to get out and after a few minutes he settles down really well.

Max can be boisterous and mess a little too much at times, we are working on this with him and if his new owner wishes, we will get out behaviourist to help them out with a training programme.

Max has been with us far too long and it's heartbreaking when we see another one of his play pals get rehomed and he gets left behind again.

Give Max a chance, you won't regret it, he has won the hearts of all the team and we really want him to get the loving home he really deserves.

Update on 8 May 2020

My heart breaks for this dog, he’s had I think 2 enquiries, why? Well I do not have the answer to that but I can tell you that you are missing out on an amazing dog.

Max is a bundle of fun, he likes to wind all the dogs up and some of the volunteers and he knows exactly what he is doing, he’s not stupid by all means, he’s a raker, he loves attention but most of all he loves the company of both dogs and people, it’s quite sad really because since Lulu left he’s no partner in crime and he sits on the trampoline and just looks around hoping for someone to hang out with and when you are looking out at this it really does pull at your heart strings but hopefully we will have a new friend for him soon.

Max does have some training issues but nothing that can’t be fixed and for anyone who adopts max we have a behaviourist working with us so you’ll have the help as well and now have the full package.

Give Max a chance, message the page and fill out an application form.

Update on 11 April 2020

Every dog deserves a home but especially Max, he's been with us far too long and it's just so unfair that he gets overlooked and passed over. Come meet him, give him a chance to hypnotise you with his friendly charm and playful nature.

Max is a full on high energy boy who loves to get out for a run in the field, he enjoys playing in the yard or on the trampoline, it's his favourite plaything. He has had a few female play pals too so he might be rehomed with one depending on a meet and greet. We're not sure how he is with cats, this would have to be tested.

Max is very affectionate, he loves being rubbed down and will keep leaning in for more, he never wants it to end, he's so sweet.

Max is a little too enthusiastic at the start of his walks but once he's out and about, he's fine and quite good on his lead.

Max is a messer and needs a firm owner to set boundaries for him, he's very smart but at his age is a little boisterous so needs help with his manners. Max would benefit from an active home that could utilise his endless energy.

Max needs a chance to shine and we hope that the right owner will adopt him and let him do that.

Update on 3 April 2020

Max is half the size of a regular akita but twice the fun, he's still waiting, hoping and wishing it's his turn to be next for a new home. Please consider him, he has so much to give.

Max has nothing to hide, he is 100% transparent and lays it all out for you to see and what you will see is an amazing boy with a super-friendly personality.

Max doesn't need time to "warm-up" because from the moment you meet him, you'll see he is carefree, energetic, playful and affectionate. Max longs for a best friend more than anything, a special new owner that he can love.

Max might be rehomed with another female depending on a meet and greet, he has been great with females so far. We have no idea how he is with cats, this would have to be tested.

Max really enjoys his walks, he can be over excited at the start but calms down quickly and is good on his lead.

Max is very enthusiastic and can be a bit of a messer in a good way so he may need a little help learning to be composed when necessary. He is very smart and intelligent so this would be easy if you put the time in.

Max would be a great match for an active person or family who enjoys outdoor adventures or dog sports like agility, Max would love this.

We want Max to experience all the comforts of a loving home, a nice comfy couch, plenty of treats but mostly someone he can finally trust and love.

Update on 24 March 2020

Max is still a young boy who really needs to get out of the centre and start a new life with a caring owner or a loving family, he's a super little guy with so much to offer, it's a real shame nobody has given him a chance so far.

Max is a brilliant boy with a huge personality, he is a messer and will try to wind you up every chance he gets but that's his way of playing. He's very friendly and affectionate and loves attention.

Max has lots of energy, he's a live wire but if he had a regular routine and some stability in his life, he would settle down, he just has no direction at the moment.

Max could be rehomed with a female, depending on a meet and greet, he has been out playing with lots of females at the centre and had a great time with them all. We have no idea how he is with cats, this would have to be tested.

Max loves to get out for a walk, he's a little excited at the start but after a few minutes he's back to normal and he's good on his lead.

Max would be best suited with someone who appreciates his energy and stamina and could offer him a lifestyle that matches, someone who enjoys getting their exercise outdoors, walking, hiking, jogging etc. He could also join a family with older children who are active, he'd love the company and they'd love his playing and messing around.

Come meet Max, give him a chance, get to know him, you will be blown away by his cheeky little charm.

Update on 13 March 2020

Max is literally "the underdog", he gets overlooked because he isn't as cute as a husky or he isn't as big as an Akita but honestly this little guy is very unique in his own way, his lovable nature and attitude will bring a smile to your face that will last a lifetime, just come meet him.

Max is a high energy boy, very friendly, playful and energetic. He loves playing in the yard and enjoys female company, he has had loads of female buddies over the last while and has got along brilliantly with them so he could be rehomed with a female dog depending on a meet and greet. We don't know if he has had any experience with cats, this would have to be tested by the applicant.

Max loves his walks and would walk all day, he is really good on his lead once he gets over the initial excitment of getting out for a walk.

If you love long walks or have been looking for a hiking buddy, Max is the ideal boy, he would love to join you. He could also join an active family, with older children, only because he is still young himself and very lively.

Max has a super personality, he's very affectionate once he gets to know you, he loves hugging in and getting rubbed down.

Don't keep him waiting any longer, give him a chance to show you why you should pick him for your forever furry friend.

Update on 28 February 2020

Max is watching and waiting everyday for that special person to come to the centre and pick him to be their loyal companion and loving pet.

Max has been with us a while and really has been overlooked which is an absolute shame as he has so much potential and he has a super personality.

Max is very active, playful and energetic. He is nowhere near the size of a regular Akita, quite the opposite, he's small in size and has a slighter build.

Max loves getting out to play with one of the female dogs, they have great fun all the time so he may be able to be rehomed with another female depending on a meet and greet. He gets super-excited when he knows he's going for a walk but once he's out, he's really good on the lead after a few minutes.

Max would be best suited to an active family, with older children, only because he is young and very lively. He may also be suited to an owner who enjoys the outdoors and is looking for company. We have no idea how he is with cats, this would have to be tested by the applicant.

Max is a very affectionate and friendly boy in his own way, he's not so much into cuddles but he loves attention and being rubbed down, he'll lean right into you so you don't stop, he's a sweetheart.

Update on 17 February 2020

Max is an energetic, fun-loving and affectionate boy. Although he is part Akita, it does not show in his build, he is a lot smaller and shorter in height than a regular Akita. He's ideal for anyone who is intimidated by a bigger dog.

Max is very playful and active, he loves getting out to play with one of the female dogs in the field, yard or anywhere where they can have fun together so he may be able to be rehomed with another female depending on a meet and greet.

He enjoys his walks, can get a little excited at the start but settles after a few minutes and is good on his lead. We don't know how he would be with cats, the applicant would have to assess this.

Max is bursting with energy and has great endurance so he would be best suited to an active family or someone who loves outdoor activities.

Max needs his own home now with someone who will cherish his friendly personality and affectionate ways and give him a fresh start in life.

Update on 7 February 2020

Max is an adorable high energy dog, he is part akita but this does not show in his build, he is a lot smaller and slight in comparison to your average akita.

Max loves being active, playing in the field or the yard with one of the females, they get along great so depending on a meet and greet he could live with another female. He loves his walks and after the initial excitement of getting out the gate, he is good on his lead. We don't know how he would be with cats, the applicant would have to assess this.

Max is young and needs out of the centre so he can progress to his full potential. He would be best suited to an active family or someone who loves the outdoors and enjoys hiking, walking, jogging etc., as he doesn't get tired easily. He is very affectionate and friendly, with a lovely temprement, he will light up the life of his new owner - is that you?

Update on 1 February 2020

Max is a high energy dog, full of life, loves running around in the field or playing in the yard with his female buddy, Bonnie.

Max has a much slighter build than your average akita, he's smaller in height and width. He has a confident personality, is very friendly and he loves his hugs and cuddles.

Max would fit perfectly into an active family or with someone who enjoys hiking or trail running. He is good on the lead, gets excited at the start but settles down quickly once he's out and about.

As mentioned before, he gets along great with some of the female dogs so this could be an option for him depending on a meet and greet. We're not sure about cats, the applicant would have to test this themselves.

As with all our dogs, Max would have to live with the family in the house - no sheds, garages etc.

If you would like this energetic boy as part of your adventures, get in touch with the Rehoming Team.

Update on 11 January 2020

If you want an Akita but think you don't have the room, Max is the answer! Max is not as big as your average Akita, he's a smaller build and height.

Max is full of life, loves playing with Bonnie in the field or the yard. He's very energetic so would definitely be more suited to an active family or person. He loves to get out for his walks, being strong on the lead initially but then eases off, possibly with regular walks, this wouldn't be an issue.

He is very affectionate when he gets to know you, loves hugging in and being cuddled.

Can you make 2020 his best year ever and give him a forever home? It will be the best decision you ever make, a friend for life.

Please pm the page if you can offer Max a home,

Update on 15 December 2019

Max is the other half of the gorgeous Bonnie and together they create a stir in the yard playing and sometimes winding the other dogs up because he is a little messer and in a good way.

Max has a lot of energy and would suit a very active family, he has been out running with Andy on the scooter and just loves it, even whey he’s is out with Bonnie he could play for hours so living without another dog would probably be the best for him as he just the company of Bonnie, he just loves being out, having fun and getting loads of attention.

He is good on the lead but is strong, we aren’t sure about children but I think older children would be best as he does like to mess around and as for cats we have no idea. He’s a very friendly dog he just likes to mess around and be a bit boisterous.

If you need a running partner then Max is your boy, he will test you, he will make you laugh, he will love you and smother you with you cuddles whenever you want. With his bad boy look and mischievous ways he’s the perfect dog to entertain you so why not bring some fun into your life and give this boy a home?

Send us a message if Max catches your eye and please don’t scroll by!

Update on 4 December 2019

n all seriousness we haven’t had one message about this beautiful boy, it’s actually very sad because he’s a lot of fun and is a lovely dog when you get to know him.

What can I say about him? Well he is a little messer, he will test you and he will wind you up but all he’s wanting is fun and a good play around, he gets out with Bonnie and the pair of them could play for hours on end so he would suit an active person or family, someone who runs, he loves running he would be a perfect running partner.

He also loves company so ideally another dog would be suitable and female, older children and someone who is dog savvy otherwise he’ll take the hand out of you as he does to me (Tara) we play tug of war, hide and seek, catch me oh you can and then he brings me into the run as if to say there you go you stay here and all you can you is laugh, he’s a full messer and he knows it!

Mad max needs out of the rescue he’s been here too long, he’s so clean in his run so I’m assuming he’s house trained.

Please consider him he really is lovely, send us a message for an application form.

Update on 10 November 2019

Not one message has this boy had and he’s lovely, he’s really calmed down and I’d say that’s to do with being fed up.

This boy is a messer, he will wind you up but he will listen when he needs to, he will just need more training and he is also very smart so will be a quick learner.

He would suit an active family as he loves going out with Andy on the bike and could run for miles.

He’s a funny little dude when he’s out in the yard and will interact with you and play with you which he loves but he will also test you.

We aren’t sure of his breed but he’s supposed to be an Akita cross but we don’t think so.

Update on 31 October 2019

This boy is a messer and he will wind you up but he will listen when he needs to, he will just need more training and not much as he’s a smart boy who is getting fed up being in kennels. He keeps his run clean and always toilets when he is outside.

He has come on loads from first arriving with us and will make a super companion.

Update on 9 October 2019

Looking for a running companion? If so, then look no further. Max is 18 months and when he came in, we were told he was an Akita cross, but we are not 100% on his breed.

Max is a high energy boy with a very funny character. He is the joker of the centre and loves to mess and wind you up, especially when it’s time to go back into his pen, but he would much rather play chasing with you. He tends to have selective hearing at times but this is improving each day with continued training so his new owner will need to continue with his training as he is still a young dog.

He would suit an active family, he loves nothing more than going on a run with Andy and he will run for miles. Due to his high energy we will be looking for a home with no children or older children. He would also suit as an only dog or a home with the right female.

Update on 29 September 2019

Max is 18 months old and is a big messer.. he just loves to play. He does listen when you are firm so will need a confident new mentor.

He is full of energy and will want to be included in family activities.

Update on 6 September 2019

Max is an 18 month Male husky mix. He is a bundle of energy and a complete messer but he will listen if you are firm.

Max will suit an active home as he needs to burn off that energy he has he will also need someone who can put time in to train him.. he is a very intelligent boy so training will not be difficult.

As usual our dogs will be rehomed as indoor dogs and for times they are out in the garden a 6ft fenced or walled garden is a must.
